One of the candidates for the seat of Flinders in the 2022 state election has been determined with Tumby Bay mayor Sam Telfer receiving the nomination on Sunday.
Liberal Party members from across the Eyre Peninsula met in Wudinna on Sunday for the pre-selection vote with Mr Telfer and Port Lincoln resident Sebastian Tops up for nomination.
After both nominees spoke members voted, with Mr Telfer voted in to be the Liberal Party’s nominee to be the next Member for Flinders, taking over from retiring incumbent Member Peter Treloar.
Mr Telfer said it was exciting to potentially be the next Member for Flinders and take the next step in community leadership and ensuring the needs of communities across the electorate are heard.
