A modelling is highlighting the need to improve outcomes for women living with breast cancer in regional and rural Australia.

It shows up to 30,000 Australian lives will be lost to breast cancer over the next decade with more than half predicted to be women who do not reach the five-year survival mark.

CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Professor Sarah Hosking, says more work is required to understand and improve survival rates for regional women.
